Mary Elishabeth Hensley remembered Rush Muncy needed to hide because he may have committed a murder. He was hidden in the hills, maybe an old log house. The murder took place around 1910. Effie Copley was either married to Rush or his brother Lucian. She may have married a Dalton, James, or Westley, also. She died around 1978 but we can not find a record of her death in Martin County. Please let us or the girls at the Martin County Library know ifyou have any record of this murder by Rush Muncy or any info on Effie Copley.
